New Year, New Tabletop
Share
You know how much we love perking up our water (and the added health benefits!), we posted all about it in the lead-up to Thanksgiving. The winter holiday season is no different. And cranberry water is still a possibility, but if you’re a bit tired of cranberries, we have a new secret weapon for festive water that will keep you healthy and hydrated AND keep your tabletop just as beautiful. We'll cheers to that!
Pomegranate is one of the healthiest fruits on the planet. Just one cup of pomegranate arils (yep, that’s what those tiny little seeds are called) contains 7 grams of fiber, 3 grams of protein, 30% of the recommended daily intake (RDI) of Vitamin C, 36% of the RDI of Vitamin K, 16% of the RDI of folic acid and 12% of the RDI of potassium. They also contain two fierce plant compounds – punicalagins (a powerful antioxidant) and punicic acid (an anticarcinogenic polyunsaturated fatty acid) – which help to fight inflammation, obesity, heart disease, lower risks of cancer and lower blood pressure. For such a tiny seed, it packs quite a punch!
Pomegranate arils are also lovely and festive! And they are, of course, delicious! Their deep red color looks beautiful in a clear water glass and in our Soma Glass Carafe, which makes a perfect centerpiece to your table (remember, just like at Thanksgiving, you can take out the reservoir after filtering).
And for a nice after-dinner digestif before the ball drops, we suggest muddling some mint and then adding the pomegranate. The mint aids in digestion and the pomegranate has all of those fantastic health benefits.
Cheers to another hydrated year!
