How’s your body feeling these days? With all of the homebound activity and remote connecting we’re not up and at it like we used to be. When our bodies struggle, they give us signals that things aren’t okay, and we don’t always listen. In fact, sometimes we ignore the early signs and we’re strangely surprised when our bodies scream back at us. Here are some common signs that you aren’t drinking enough water.
Problem: Feeling sluggish, tired, and having trouble focusing. | When you’re not properly hydrated the overall fluid loss can lead to a decrease in blood volume that stresses the heart in its work delivering oxygen and nutrients to your organs causing you to feel fatigued. | Solution: Drink water.
Problem: Your sweet tooth is aching. | Even mild dehydration can disrupt your body’s ability to access glucose for energy and instead make your body think it wants sugar. | Solution: Drink water.
Problem: Your skin is looking dry, flaky, and dull. | Water keeps your skin cells fat and healthy. When you’re dehydrated, skin loses its elasticity and those fine lines become prominent. | Solution: Drink water.
Problem: You’re feeling bloated. | Water is what allows your intestines, liver, and kidneys flush waste from the body. It also helps with digestion, ensuring that food moves through the intestines. Without adequate hydration your body will not be able to eliminate waste and you’ll feel bloated and unwell. Solution: Drink water.
