Healthy Mind, Healthy Body

The benefits of working out are pretty clear when it comes to your body, but just as important (especially during times like this!) are the benefits exercise can provide your mind.

When you exercise, your body releases endorphins -- we like to call these happy hormones. The regular release of endorphins has been proven to reduce stress, ward off anxiety, any feelings of depression, boost self-esteem, and improve your sleep.

If you’re anything like the team here at Soma HQ --you’re in desperate need of some happy hormones. We’re currently living through a time of unknown. Of course you’re going to have anxiety and stress, of course you’re going to have trouble sleeping.

We’re sharing with you how our employees are tackling their stress and anxiety with their WFH workouts.

Ellie, Assistant Marketing Manager I’ve been getting into mat pilates while stuck at home. I normally stick to barre, but I love how easy it is to follow along to pilates Youtube videos and I don’t need a ballet bar!”

Francesca, Operations Coordinator “Work has been crazy stressful and I obviously haven’t been able to go to after-work yoga with my co-workers. I’ve just recently started watching Y7’s free classes on Instagram."

Nicole, Product Development Coordinator  “I’ve been using the Apptiv app for strength training and meditation! I’m able to take the classes in my backyard which is an awesome excuse to get away from my desk for a bit and get my mind in a clearer place.“

Ruby, Brand Marketing Manager “I’m big on classes so it’s been hard for me to get into a schedule when I’m at home on my own. My roommate and I have been watching @melissawoodhealth’s Instagram lives and following along from our living room!”

Share with us how you’re keeping endorphins high and spirits up!
