SPRING (take a) BREAK

Once you’re in the real world, Spring Break takes on a pretty different meaning (it doesn’t exist!). Even if we're not in school anymore, everyone deserves to treat themselves to a nice break. Not to sound cheesy, but your body is your home! We take care of and worship our home, so we need to do the same to our body.

In honor of Earth Month, we’re giving you tips on how to take care of yourself and your earth.

We’ll reiterate this one a lot and not just because we're in the water business -- staying hydrated is one of the most important, simplest ways to take care of your body. We recommend drinking at least 4 Soma 17 oz. bottles of water a day. Here at Soma HQ, we’re constantly walking back and forth to fill up our bottles. Reusable bottles = more water = less plastic waste. Swap out refilling your store-bought plastic bottles for a glass bottle and watch how much easier it is to drink more water -- you’d be surprised!

Exercise is a biggie when talking about self-care, but it doesn’t always have to be at the gym. The weather is getting warmer by the day so get outside and grab that fresh air. Embrace nature and ditch your car. Walking and biking is an amazing way to check out new places, get some steps in, and do better for your environment. So grab some trail mix and hit the pavement, there’s a lot to discover!

Our favorite way to take care of ourselves is pampering. We’re talking bubble baths, masks, candles, oh my. While a lot of these products can contain chemicals, there are some easy DIY recipes to make your own eco-friendly, self-care products. One of our favorite soothing face masks only contains 1 tablespoon of pumpkin, 1 teaspoon of vitamin E and 1 teaspoon of honey. Mix all the ingredients in a bowl until smooth and apply to the face for 15 minutes. Goodbye dark spots and dehydration!
